Ajax appeared tonight against the second setback in a short time. The team lost out at Cambuur Leeuwarden 2-1 and thus out of the KNVB Cup.

Ajax had Thursday night visit to cold Leeuwarden after last weekend suffered an unexpected defeat visiting FC Twente (1-0). The team of coach Peter Bosz occurred, as in KNVB Cup matches against Cossacks Boys (1-6) and Want II (5-0) was the case with many young players. This time the choice did not work out for the Dutch record champion.

In the first half it was clear from the first minute Cambuur massively withdrew, only to lie in wait for the counter. Because the pace that Ajax wielded lay low, the home team was pretty easy going. Indeed. In the 20th minute it was Martijn Barto who opened the scoring on behalf of Cambuur.

After a mistake in midfield at Ajax Jergé Hoefdraad could dribble towards the penalty box area and Barto put away. The striker completed in turn cool down 1-0. Hereinafter Ajax went by where it was doing. Many have the ball, but do not create chances. Panic at Ajax was greater when the Zone Sander Barto sent away again and he also doubled the score.

In the second Ajax continued the pitifully poor play of the first half. Cambuur therefore hardly came into trouble. However, play Ajax did well to score after 68 minutes. An excellent corner taken from Lasse Schöne was neatly headed in by Pelle Clement and with the sunken Schöne, Kasper Dolberg and Amin Younes Ajax went hunting for the equalizer.

Ajax had with Viergever and Clement still great opportunities to level the score, but the bad game made in the end not claim victory. The team blameert for the second time in one week and should start preparing now for the home match against PSV.
