All goals, Full Match, Full Highlights, Highlights Extended, score and goals: Manchester United 1-0 Tottenham Hotspur – Highlights & Full Match (Premier League)

Manchester United have only lost three times in the Premier League this season but the ‘wins’ tally before facing Spurs stood at just five – as many as Bournemouth and Burnley and one fewer than Watford.

United have recorded six draws and should have won probably five of them. The stalemate at Liverpool was hard-fought but United dominated Stoke, Burnley, Arsenal and West Ham, while their pragmatism was their undoing at an underwhelming Everton.

Draws have been an issue for Tottenham, too. They have also chalked up six of them but Mauricio Pochettino’s side had lost only once in the league – at Chelsea – until they faced the Reds.

Henrikh Mkhitaryan continued his great form for United with the winning goal but sadly his afternoon ended through injury and he had to go off on a stretcher.

The United line-up from last season’s opener versus Spurs was very different today. Luke Shaw and Chris Smalling are injured, while Memphis, Ashley Young and Morgan Schneiderlin also attended Anthony Joshua’s fight on Saturday night and were not on the teamsheet.
